Mob In Fashion returns to MFF with the curation of the First Nations runway. This runway is a vibrant, high-energy celebration of fashion and artistry, featuring full collections and one-of-a-kind pieces. It opens new creative pathways and fosters the careers of talented First Nations creators, empowering them to shape the future of Australian fashion.
The one-of-a-kind runway carpet was created by our official partner Godfrey Hirst in collaboration with Mob in Fashion.

Emerging Mob In Fashion MFF Runway
2024 EMERGING MOB IN FASHION RUNWAY X FUJITSU
We curated and presented an exciting line up of emerging First Nations fashion talent. The result was a runway event was an exploration of visual storytelling and creative expression through bold designs, vibrancy of colour and artistic practice.
With the support of our MMF festival partner, the Mob in Fashion Pathways Program proudly continues to foster Indigenous talent in the fashion industry and create pathways for fashion careers.

Australian Style Institute Scholarship
MOB IN FASHION X AUSTRALIAN STYLE INSTIUTE
Mob in Fashion has partnered with the Australian Style Institute to create a scholarship program to equip stylists with professional, industry level skills.
Australian Style Institute delivers innovative courses that empower students with everything they need to become successful professional stylists, from personal styling to editorial, red carpet and so much more.
Unlike many other educational institutions, they specialise solely in styling, with courses designed to provide the most valuable industry opportunities and experiences.
Since the beginning of the scholarships we have had 3 stylists complete their courses.

JONES Creative Internship
MOB IN FASHION X JONES MAGAZINE
Mob In Fashion works closely with industry leader David Jones’ publication, Jones Magazine.
Part of our ethos is to create meaningful career opportunities for creatives entering the industry.
In partnership with Jones Magazine we created an Internship for a Mob In Fashion team member.
Our first to take part of the program was Wiradjuri Intern Grace Evans Craig. She has now become a staple team member for Mob In Fashion and has gone onto style shows and photoshoots for Vogue Australia, Nagnata, Scanlan Theodore and Cotton On.

Mob In Fashion Pathways Program
MELBOURNE FASHION FESTIVAL
Mob In Fashion was created as the pathways program that gives opportunities for First Nations creatives in ‘behind the scenes’ roles such as photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, production, journalism and social media to name a few. With over 40 nationwide applications. We employed 13 creatives. The most First Nations creatives ever employed at the festival.

Indigenous Fashion Projects Show
AUSTRALIAN FASHION WEEK
Supporting the First Nations sector in fashion. Mob In Fashion was asked to lead the Styling Team for Indigenous Fashion Projects Runway at AFW, 2022.
Head Stylist Yorta Yorta creative Rhys Ripper and our team of 3x First Nations styling assistants helped curate and style the designers garments to send looks down the runway. This was a highly acclaimed show for the week.

FUTURE/HISTORY Exhibition
MELBOURNE MUSEUM
Mob in Fashion launched their initiative Future/History. An ongoing program that supports designers who live & create on country. 3 First Nations designers brought to life 3 collections that draws inspiration from their culture, dreaming & stories, using traditional materials such as bark, reeds, ochre, and bush dyes matched with adornments of feathers, fresh & sea shells, and seeds. The final collections was showcased in the Future/History Runway at Melbourne Fringe Festival opening night and the Future/History Collection was exhibited at Melbourne Museum.

AFW: Next Gen Runway Show
AUSTRALIAN FASHION WEEK
Mob In Fashion was back at Australian Fashion Week in 2023 with Indigenous Fashion Projects. This year we lead the Styling team and was in charge of the hair and makeup looks that took to the runway. We also worked on the Next Gen show for designer Cameron Hill on her debut showcase. After a successful year at AFW, Mob In Fashion was asked to be a judge for the Next Gen runway in 2024.
